Meet Natalie and Lucas

Not only was Lucas born a little early, he was born with an arm that didn’t move. As mom Natalie says, “having two older girls with no medical issues, it was frightening for my husband and I not to know what was happening with our son.” The NICU staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre immediately recommended that the family contact George Jeffrey Children’s Centre and at three months baby Lucas made his first visit.

Meet Katie

While a Master’s student at McMaster University, Katie McBean accepted an 8-week placement at George Jeffrey Children’s Centre. Upon graduation, a full-time position came up and she jumped at the chance. “I always wanted to work at a children’s treatment centre,” says Katie. “I was excited to come to Thunder Bay, and ten years later, I’m still here.”
