Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre

The Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre (EDCT) is a charitable organization that makes children’s theatre accessible for our entire community. The welcoming and nurturing environment of EDCT encourages youth ages 6-18 to develop a variety of skills as they learn to stage incredible performances. From script writing, to acting, dancing, singing, set and costume design, the participants grow together in a safe and inclusive environment, creating a production they are proud to share with their audiences.

    Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre

    Aleksa Shermack has spent her entire life focused on the arts and brings those experiences to the Eleanor Drury Children's Theatre. As its Director, she believes in creating a safe environment and nurturing creativity so kids can feel safe enough to try new things. This inclusive space allows participants to become comfortable being their best, confident selves.

  • Lorraine's Story

    Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre

    Lorraine was first introduced to EDCT when both her son and daughter were participants in the theatre. Lorraine was so impressed with the difference theatre made in the lives of her own children, she decided to join the Board. Now as President, Lorraine works with her fellow Board members to meet the mandate of keeping theatre affordable so that actors, their families and the community have exposure to theatre without financial hardship.

  • Sarah's Story

    Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre

    Sarah first performed with the Eleanor Drury Children's Theatre as a munchkin in the Wizard of Oz production and in the next 8 years, she progressively added more challenging roles to her repertoire. Like many participants, Sarah loves how EDCT allows the youth to put their own spin on each production, from the initial script to costumes and set design. Throughout her years with the theatre, Sarah has built her confidence and developed her own creativity, while at the same time making lifelong friendships.
